Self, group and peer advocacy

Speakup is a self, group and peer advocacy organisation. We began in the ‘80s because people with learning disabilities weren’t being listened to. Our voices change services and we support movements like Learning Disability England, so that we can stand up together and have a say. We work with lots of other advocacy groups and locally have good links and friendships with CHAD (Doncaster), Keyring, Social Eyes, Rotherham Advocacy Partnerships, Disability Services in Sheffield and many others.

We really work hard at group and peer advocacy, supporting people to be less isolated and we are passionate about friendships.
